In 2000, the member states of WIPO designated April 26—the date on which the WIPO Convention entered into force in 1970—as World Intellectual Property (IP) Day, with the aim of enhancing public understanding of intellectual property.
Since then, World IP Day has served as a unique occasion to celebrate the contributions of inventors and creators worldwide, while also exploring how IP fosters the growth of music and the arts, as well as driving technological innovations that shape our world.
